HR Officer – Temporary (part time)

Description 


We are looking for a HR Officer to join our manufacturing firm on the outskirts of Hope Valley. Cambion Electronics Ltd designs and manufactures tailor-made products and solutions for a wide range of industries, including aerospace and transport.


This is a temporary part time position, covering Maternity Leave for approximately 7 months. We are ideally looking for someone who is available to start after the Easter holiday period.


- Salary & Benefits -  Depending on experience and qualifications.
- Working Hours -  Part-Time hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but can be flexible

- Role Responsibilities –

* Coordinate and support line managers with disciplinary hearings, investigations, grievances and general   performance management.
* Support managers with the management of both long term and short-term sickness absence – This includes Occupational Health/GP referrals, and the implementation of our Bradford Factor absence management policy.
* Answering day to day HR queries
* Full administration of the starter/leaver process
* Assist managers in the identification of staff vacancies, preparation of job descriptions, internal and external advertisements, short listing, interviews, reference requests, eligibility to work in the UK, preparation of offer letters and contracts of employment
* Manage the Induction of new employees into the organisation identifying training needs as and when   appropriate.
* Identify, plan and evaluate training and development of staff in conjunction with operational managers
* Act as custodian to existing contractual and policy documentation. Manage, update and implement the company’s policies and procedures for HR and Training in conjunction with both external legal advisors and our Union Representatives, if appropriate.
* Management, collection of data, data analysis and reporting on sickness absence, lateness etc.
* Participate and take minutes at monthly Health & Safety Committee Meetings and circulate across the business

Please note this list of duties is not exhaustive and you may be required to perform other duties as required by the management team.

- Skills/Experience –

* Computer literate, Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, Outlook etc
* Good understanding of Employment Law and how best to apply to every situation
* Ideally previous experience in a stand-alone role and in a manufacturing environment 
* Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
* Ideally have or be working towards your CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)

* Health and Safety experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Setter – Machine Shop

Description 
We are looking for a Machine Setter to join our small but busy team on the outskirts of Hope Valley. Cambion Electronics Ltd designs and manufactures tailor-made products and solutions for a wide range of industries, including aerospace and transport.
This is a permanent position which pays a competitive rate, dependent on experience.
The hours of work are based on an alternate shift pattern.

- Role Responsibilities –

* Setting and making minor repairs to equipment including Cam automatic high-volume Lathes e.g, Escomatic & Tornos. 
* Basic machine maintenance
* Working to works orders and setting priorities with the Supervisors where required. 
* CNC operation
* Ensure quality of product by utilising first-off procedures.
* To undertake all aspects of production when necessary.
* To ensure gauges and tooling are maintained in a good condition.
* To ensure the department is kept in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
* Working to production targets.

- Skills/Experience –
* Cam Auto experience essential
* Experience of setting machines in a machine shop 
* An engineering background would be beneficial, including being fully conversant with inspection equipment and drawing interpretation.
* Experience with Escomatic and Tornos machines would be beneficial.
* Good eyesight required.

Work Experience Programme

Cambion Electronics Ltd is pleased to work in partnership with local Education Providers to offer work placements to those students interested in a future in the manufacturing environment. In recent years we have been working closely with Lady Manners and we are looking forward to welcoming one of their student this summer for a one-week placement. This year’s candidate is specifically looking at a future in Engineering. All placements are tailor made to suit the individual students needs.
